Solms-Delta is located 15km outside the village of Franschhoek in the heart of the Cape Winelands, the wine estate produces classical wines with a difference… In fact everything about Solms-Delta is different.

What we say: Lucy and I both agreed that this estate is offering something unique. The tours offer an interesting CSR component and the food, whilst not sampled, looks delicious, and with the Cape Malay twist – definitely something our clients will enjoy. The wine and food pairing is sufficient for a light lunch and extremely good value for money. For larger groups, there are 6 tours that we can rotate the group, depending on the interest, and the local musician adds a fun element. We heard him tuning up and he sounds great!

Fyndraai Restaurant has a very unique and local twist on popular Franschhoek restaurants. It offers a modern take on traditional Cape cuisine whilst showcasing the history of the area. For those wishing to picnic in the Cape Winelands, the estate offers appetising picnic baskets from Fyndraai restaurant with delicious vegetarian options. Contents typically include basil pesto marinated farm vegetables with chive crème fraiche; bacon and onion potato slaai with vinaigrette; smoked Franschhoek trout with caper berries and fresh cream, and chicken tandoori with cucumber and honey mustard yoghurt. Private picnic spots are spread out along the estate’s riverside forest.

The wine farm estate also features a museum that explores the slave heritage of the area, and six special interest guided wine farm tours that exceed the conventional wine tasting experience.

A Taste of our Food Heritage

The restaurant’s menu is a fusion of three culinary traditions of the Cape – it does not fuse or ‘re-invent’ these traditions, but rather allows you to experience them just as they would have been prepared in the past. Come and taste all three – authentic Boerekos, Cape Malay and Veldkos dishes.

Capacity: Restaurant 80 delegates / Picnic 150 delegates

Last night I attended the media launch of Madame Zingara’s latest venture – The Love Magic Tour. For too long this fantastic venture has been missing from our shores and I, for one, am very happy to see her return. No longer located at the foreshore, this beautiful, imported “tent” is now located at Century City, opposite Canal Walk.

Madame Zingara’s Theatre of Dreams is the grande dame of burlesque style. A dinner cirque spectacular that enchants and inspires all who pass through her stained glass doors.

Housed in one of the last remaining Mirror Tents in the world, Victoria is a twenty five metre velvet big top that has toured the globe for the last eighty years. Her ornate majestic mirrored column’s and beveled booths transport one back to a by-gone era where cirque and magic ruled the world.

With all kitchen facilities on site no aspect of hospitality is ignored, from superbly trained glitter dusted waitrons to the incredible acrobatics one begins to understand there are no boundaries to the night.

The standard of food and service has not dropped and they still have their, now famous, chocolate chili fillet and even more delicious the Norwegian Salmon.

With a mixture of firm favourites, who cannot forget the 3 Tonnes of Fun,  and a whole new troupe of entertainers, the show delights you from beginning to end. Without giving too much away the final act will have you gasping in amazement! With the height of a classic big top this velvet cathedral transports one between the known and the unknown.
